I'm an anthropologist researching food, labor, race, and the environment across the Americas. I am currently a USDA-NIFA AFRI Postdoctoral Fellow in Community and Environmental Sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My work asks who gets to farm, whose labor and care our food depends on, and how race and migration shape the ways we relate to land, animals, and one another.

I have followed these questions from the colonial history and branding of yerba mate, to immigrant farmers and workers building just transitions in Midwestern animal agriculture, to my current research with workers in small-scale "ethical" meat processing.

Through ethnography, participatory action research, and creative collaboration, I work with farmers, workers, organizers, and artists to co-develop knowledge and policy for more equitable food systems. Feel free to explore my work and reach out if you'd like to connect!
